Getting Started with Rc Helicopters

Hobbies,Collecting
There are five main types of rc helicopters and these include Toy (Single rotor and coaxial), Micro coaxial Hobby Grade, Single Rotor Fixed Pitch Micro 45 degree Flybar Hobby Grade, Quadrocopters and Single Rotor Collective Pitch Hobby Grade. Toy rc helis are exactly that, a toy. There are not expensive and are very basic. They have limited controls and not accurate but still are loaded with lots of fun and easy to fly. Toy rc choppers take quite a blow from crashes and hitting of objects. Toy helis are a good starting point for those who want to wet their feet and find if flying one of those is enjoyable. The Micro Coaxial hobby grade rc flights are complex, cost more and challenging in control ability. What does hobby grade mean? This means thre are individual parts of the helicopter which can be bought from a hobby shop and replaced separately.

Hobby grade means when one crashes of breaks something, he/she simple buys a new part and the helis is ready to take ff again as a new one. Another advantage of hobby grade rc flights is that the replaceable parts allow for upgrade of certain components that improve performance. Toy rc helicopters on the hand come as they are, thus if they break it is the end of them. The other name for micro coaxial hobby grade rc choppers is dual or twin rotor helicopters and has real control mechanisms of up, down, forward, turn, and sideways movement not forgetting hovering. Micro-Coaxial rc helicopter are easy to fly compared to toy radio controlled helicopters but are larger in mass and size. This implies that crashing one may break or damage a part. The good news as mentioned above is the part can be fixed.

Hobbyists who are starting out on rc hobby grade rc helicopters and want to have good control over one, then the micro coaxial rc chopper is the right choice for you to start out. They are adaptive for indoor flying but on the outside, a calm day provides a nice flight as well. The latest developments in radio controlled vertical lift platforms are the radio controlled helicopters which are able to take off vertically, fly in all directions and hover. The name Quadrocopters suggest there are four propellers arranged in a cross type configuration. The single rotor fixed pitch micro Flybar hobby grade are the next improvements from the micro coaxials. They are a bit harder to fly compared to coaxials rc helicopters. When a 45 degree Flybar is included, it achieves most of the same self correcting stability offered in the micro coaxial and toy variety.

They can be termed as little birds that essentially bridge the gap between lower performance micro coaxial rc helicopters and higher performance and larger single rotor versions. People who know they are going to like this hobby can start out on these wonderful little helis. The models Blade mSR and Blade 120 SR are both impressive. The single rotor collective pitch hobby grade rc flights have the real control and amazing performance.
