How To Collect Bee Pollen - Look At What The Beekeepers Should Be Doing In an Ideal World!

Health,Self Improvement
If you thought that most bee keepers knew exactly how to collect bee pollen, you would be wrong. The fact is that many of them do not know. There has also been an upsurge in the number of new beekeepers in the UK and USA and most of them are in need of training.

In an ideal world, this is how to collect bee pollen. First the pollen should be collected at regular intervals from the hive. If it is not, then there is a greater chance that there will be contamination from external sources and also that heat, light and moisture will affect its nutritional quality.

Ideally the bee pollen should then be immediately freeze dried or if that is not possible, it should be air dried at a fairly low temperature.

The whole environment of the beehives is extremely important too in that it should be nowhere near any farming which uses pesticides. The pesticides which have been mainly responsible for the decimation of the bees are manufactured by giant chemical companies and they have put considerable pressure on governments and local authorities to have any bans lifted. The class of pesticide most commonly associated with the slaughter is the neonicotinoids of which clothianidin is the most famous.

Beekeepers in France, Germany and Italy have noted that there has been an improvement in the health of the honeybees when these awful pesticides were banned form local areas. There is a fear now in Germany that Bayer is putting pressure on the authorities there to have the ban lifted on some of the pesticides at least for use with rapeseed.

These are some of the issues connected with the whole question on how to collect bee pollen. There is also the problem that there is little or no regulation on beekeepers in many areas and inspections are rare.

We know that some beekeepers are using unorthodox means of feeding their bees in the winter months with fructose corn syrup. As this can contain the toxin hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) which is fatal for the bees, there is concern that this can further decimate the bee population.

So we can see that how to collect bee pollen is a complex area extending out to many areas such as pollution, the environment, the professionalism of the beekeepers themselves and many other interlinking factors.

Actually the best way to get over these problems is by choosing to take bee pollen capsules which you know come from a pristine area like New Zealand. If you are sure that the company is manufacturing and processing the pollen according to GMP rules, then this is a real guarantee that you are getting the safest and purest bee pollen on the market.
