ONGC Voice of India North East Contest held at Shivasagar. Under the aegis of Rainbow North East Shivasagar, the mega final round of the ONGC Voice Of India North East Contest was held on October 10th and 11th at opan pandal of Shivasagar ONGC Colony. The contest was comprised of Jyoti Sangeet, Rabha Sangeet , Parvati Sangeet , Bhupendra Sangeet and modern song of both Assamese and Hindi languages. About five thousand participants of North East participated in this contest out of which twelve participants were selected as finalist through various rounds of the contest since 2009. Music Director Jayanta Nath, renowned musician Hiren Gohain, singer Ram Chasani, lyricist Sridam Machoi, musician Biswajit Bora and Tarun Bura gohain conducted the competition as honourable judges. Bulumoni Rabha of Boku ,Guwahati and Priyanka Gogoi of Demow, Shivasagar were adjudged winner of senior and junior category. Bulumoni Rabha was awarded as Uttar Pub Bharat Kantha (Senior) with an A/C Car and on the other hand Priyanka Gogoi was awarded as Uttar Pub Bharat Kantha ( Junior) with a cash prize of rupees one lakh. Finalist Manjuri Phukan Dibrugarh, Chayanika Sabhapandit Golaghat, Dorodi Gogoi Shivasagar, Kakoli Pathak Borpeta, Kuldip Bora Nowgoan, Popiha Bezboruah Guwahati, Gargi Ghose Moriyani Jorhat, Tamashri Saikia Duliyajan and Priyanka Chutia Dibrugarh were awarded with finalist trophy, certificate and a cash prize of Rupees ten thousand each. The prize distribution function was held soon after the contest where the prizes were awarded to the winners. After the distribution of prizes in presence of the distinguish guest , invited dignitaries and esteemed audiences the three years lengthy musical tour of ONGC Voice of India North East Contest has come to a successful end.
