Made popular by the hit Disney series, Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus has emerged as one of America's biggest teen stars. However, being part of Hollywood isn't much of a good thing for the youth nowadays as many issues have arose, including drug addiction, DUI and other effects of fame. Right now, Miley's father, country artist and actor Billy Ray Cyrus is hands-on with keeping his daughter safely tucked away from all this negativity. He hopes that she wouldn't be blinded be her fame and that the values he and his wife instilled in their family would be enough to keep her from going astray. "I worry every day," Cyrus admitted in a conversation with CMT.com. "Luckily, we go back to our roots. We're a faith-based family. We've always tried to live for the light. I'm the last guy to cast a stone at anybody. I've made as many mistakes or more than any of those kids have made out there. But I tried to learn from my mistakes, so I'm hoping that Miley can look at my life and some of the other things around here and just learn so she doesn't have to make those mistakes." He added that Miley, who started out with Hannah Montana when she was only 12 years old, has a "good head on her shoulders and a good heart." "We pray every day that she's going to make good decisions. Then we pray every day that I'm gonna make a couple of good decisions, too. She's probably worried more about me than I am about her," Billy Ray Cyrus admitted. Co-starring with his daughter on Hannah Montana, Cyrus has been long in the entertainment industry as he entered the music scene in the early 1900s. He later gained the attention of people worldwide with his hit single, "Achy Breaky Heart." He moved on to acting upon being given advice by his father. "I kind of took [my father] up on his advice and went and auditioned for [film director] David Lynch's Mulholland Drive," he revealed to CMT.com. "They hired me, and a few weeks later, I went and auditioned for [the PAX TV sitcom] Doc. Pretty soon, I had 88 episodes and four years of experience as a full-time actor. It just prepared me for the next bridge that was coming called Hannah Montana." Cyrus has gained more exposure with his television appearances, however, he is still pursuing his musical career as he released his latest album entitled Home at Last in August. He will be on a nationwide tour on October and November, promoting his latest album, which entered the Billboard country chart at No.3.
