Stress refers to adverse reactions under stressful situations. Stress can be of three types; physical stress that results out of poor posture, lifting heavy stuffs or standing for long. Chemical stress that results out of poor diet, wrong medication, air, water or food pollution and emotional stress that can result out of estranged family relations, death of loved ones or illness. Learning ways of coping with stress is necessary, as it is not possible to avoid such situations in life. Prolonged stress can result in physical or mental illness in the end. You need to devise strategies for coping with stress when you experience symptoms such as sexual dysfunction, headaches, neck pain, back pain, sore tight muscles, loss of memory, poor self-esteem, irritation, feeling of numbness, depression, tiredness, and other unusual symptoms. Massages and chiropractic care can release physical tension from your body. Exercise or may be a walk can help you feel happy and fresh. Your mental and physical wellbeing can be taken care of, when you practice Tai Chi or Yoga regularly. Deep breathing exercises are a good way to stay healthy and induce sleep. You must be aware of some tricks when it comes to dealing with chemical stress. You should switch to healthier eating habits and exercise regularly. Stay away from foods containing flavorings, preservatives and sweeteners. Rise of obesity is considered one of the most alarming lifestyle diseases these days. Apart from this, you must also consider what you absorb through your skin. Look at ingredients used in lotions, shampoos, soaps or cosmetic products you use. Things that your skin absorbs, goes into your blood and increases chemical stress in your body. For coping with stress, it is better to avoid caffeine, alcohol, and tobacco. These are toxic substances and alter our moods. Research studies have concluded that these toxic substances can have huge impact on stress. You must learn to cope with emotional and mental stress. You can start by spending time with your own self, read good books or meditate. Spend time with relatives and friend you trust the most. You can escape the daily routine and spend weekends with your hobbies or pets. Therefore, as you can see, for coping with stress you have to identify the stressors first. Only once you are aware of your stressors, you can think of the de-stressors. So, to enjoy life and come out of shackles of stress and anxiety, follow the aforementioned strategies and make most of what life has to offer.
