Injuries

So far there have been limited injuries to complain about at Tigerland. The only injuries of note are those that occurred in 2010, as an example the hamstring injury to Daniel Jackson, the shoulder worries of Ben Griffths as well as the continuous healing of Nathan Foley. There are a limited player training in the rehab group however without further injury all players ought to be accessible for Round one.

Review

2010 was a year of new beginnings for the Tigers. A new coach inDamien Hardwick arrived at Punt Road and with him he brought new assistants, a new gameplan along with a whopping 14 new players. It was expected that the season would be a year of learning for the Tigers, however nobody can estimate how spectacular that learning shape would be.

After nine rounds Richmond's report understand 0-9 because they easily sat in last place with a percentage of simply over 50. The team was trying in every areas of the game and were fighting off comparisons to the past 90's 'death row' team Fitzroy. Some Betting agencies had absolutely paid out punters who supported Richmond certain the spoon. It took a downpour at AAMI Park along with a lot of courage from the Richmond players to report their 1st win of the 2010 season and Hardwick's 1st ever win because coach.

Since that win, Richmond managed to win 5 more games for the season including a streak of 4 games in a row. They even managed to make themselves off the base of the break thanks largely to aColeman medal performance from Jumping Jack. There was no doubt the young Richmond list had improved throughout 2010 under rookie coach Damien Hardwick, however what does which means that for 2011?

2011 are another understanding shape for the Tigers however we wouldn't expect that it is very as steep as that in 2010. With another big influx of players there are numerous who are learning their roles in the team structure as well as the Hardwick gameplan. It would be expected that we'll view natural improvement from the developing young players and this will cause a limited more wins. While finals aren't out of the question for any team, expect to view Richmond in the base 4 or 5 teams again in 2011.

2011 sees Richmond with a fairly neutral draw for Dream Team and Supercoach coaches. Their bye in Round 11 may supply advantages for those recording for the auto whilst their Round 19 bye coincides with a week off in Dream Team and Supercoach matches for those targeting a leaguewin.

Dream Team wise Richmond have usually had their share of players who shined in dream land. Joel Bowden is one who involves mind because one of the 1st ever defenders to rack up huge Dream Team and Supercoach Scores. 2010 saw the emergence of Riewoldt because a important forward line cog in numerous AFL Fantasy Teams throughout the world whilst players like Deledio, Tuck and Newman continued their usual output of large scores.

While Hardwick's simple gameplan of 'kick it lengthy to Jack' meant fewer Dream Team things for Tiger players last year, in 2011 there may still be many players to again keep an eye out for. Having them in the team can make or break the season.

Stars

Brett Deledio (Back/Mid) (2010 DT Avg: 89) (2010 SC Avg: 102)

Make no mistake, Deledio ought to be one of the 1st players picked in the dream team this year. After spending much of 2010 because a half back flanker, Brett is now indexed because Defender and a midfielder. Deledio is definitely a consistent scorer so that as such is relied onto score at least 80 things for the team daily, that is very pleasing when he could be chosen because a defender.

Deledio's new dual status may are available in very handy this year, allowing you to switch him into either the backline or midfield depending on Byes and/or injuries. Perhaps best of all, Lids is a remarkably durable player, having missed only 4 games because 2006 meaning once you lock him into the side you will be be confident he can be playing close to every game of the year.

Shane Tuck (Mid) (2010 DT Avg: 96) (2010 SC Avg: 103)

He may have been out of favor early last year however Shane Tuck proved once again how big of the stat machine he could be. Shane doesn't have the prettiest disposal by foot however he gets the job done in Fantasy terms, amassing an average of 25.5 disposals across his 20 games in 2010. The best item about having Tuck in the side is the fact that he isn't the top player amongst Fantasy Coaches despite his huge scores. This means that you might well get the jump on your opposition with a different midfielder to many.

Jack Riewoldt (Fwd) (2010 DT Avg: 84) (2010 SC Avg: 92)

2010 was a breakout year in every sense of the word for Jumping Jack. He managed to try out all 22 games for his club, win All Australian selection and win the Coleman Medal because the league's leading goal-kicker, all job firsts. As you'd expect, Jack's breakout season came a huge increase in Dreamteam scores. The great item about Riewoldt was the ability to post huge scores when on song, because evidenced by his huge 10 goal performance from the Eagles. These huge scores is priceless for the team and is the difference between winning and losing a match.

Just one word of caution: before coaches choose Jack always know the risks involved. 2010 was a breakout year for Jack so that as such clubs are more wary of him in 2011. This combined with Richmond's attempts to find alternative avenues in goal can actually cause lower scores for Riewoldt. This can be countered however by Jack shedding a limited kilos in an effort to move further up the ground. ( http://tinyurl.com/4mdoy2e ) Either way, picking Jack might be the wildcard we need to win the league or the auto.

Bargains

Nathan Foley (Mid) (2010 DT Avg: 71) (2010 SC Avg: 94)

Foley is perhaps the most chosen players in Fantasy teams in 2011. Foley's price ought to be very low thanks to injuries that saw him miss 26 games through the last 2 years, including just 4 games in 2010. The coaches that may remember may recall a Foley that burst onto the scene in 2007 and 2008 that culminated in a Tribute State of Origin game and always big Dream Team scores. Even last year Foley managed to post big scores despite recovering from an injury, before he succumbed to however another injury. That is the top risk with Foley, when he can remain fit he then can supply a truly beneficial cash cow orperhaps even remain a keeper in the midfield, when he falls to injury however again you might need to use up a trade to get him out.

Smokies

Mitch Morton (Fwd/Mid) (2010 DT Avg: 76) (2010 SC Avg: 77)

It can be information to some, however Mitch Morton may very well be a anchor in the Fantasy Team in 2011. After a troublesome start to 2010 Morton was asked by his coaches to return to the VFL and work on becoming a midfielder. Mitch did simply that and finished off his year with a bang in the Richmond side. In the last 6 games of the season Mitch averaged a whopping 24 disposals a game because a midfielder/forward. The just item however to be seen is wether Mitch may continue this brief run of form for an whole season. While Morton won't score enough things to really consider because a midfielder, there is no doubt he should really be considered for a permanent forward position in the team.

Bachar Houli (Mid) (2010 DT Avg: 77) (2010 SC Avg: 83)

Bachar involves Richmond after managing just 5 games for Essendon in 2010. It's somewhat difficult to view why Houli wasn't given more games last year because when he played he averaged a solid 20 disposals including 24 touches in Round 18. Bachar should view a marked increase in games at Richmond though because the Tigers had been wooing Houli for a while before Trade Week and clearly feel he fits the team well. Under Hardwick, Houli might have a breakout season with the very least give a good cash cow.

Avoid

Ben Nason (Fwd) (2010 DT Avg: 55) (2010 SC Avg: 50)

Don't get me wrong, Nason had a great year in 2010 and has all of the makings of the handy player, however Dream Team wise I would remain away this year. After starting off 2010 by playing the 1st 15 games of the season, Nason's form and disposals dropped off because the season wore on. This is not uncommon for a 1st year player employing 2011 I'm not expecting enough improvement stats-wise to warrant what are a higher price than 2010.

Rookies of note

Reece Conca (Mid) (2010 DT Avg: N/A) (2010 SC Avg: N/A)

One advantage of Richmond having such a young list is the fact that numerous inside 1st year and therefore inexpensive players may play many games in 2011. Richmond were profoundly infatuated with Reece prior to a Draft and nabbed their man a lot earlier than the others had forecasted. With his skills and leadership attributes, Reece Conca may definitely be the 1st Richmond Rookie to play in 2011 barring an injury. In fact it is very probably that we'll view the Tiger's 1st round choose play most games in 2011, as an example the Round 1 blockbuster against Carlton. Don't expect to view huge scores from this kid, however there is no doubt he can play enough games to warrant selection in the team because an avenue to buying a greater midfielder later in the season.

Best of the Rest

Defenders

Chris Newman (Back) (2010 DT Avg: 82) (2010 SC Avg: 93)

The Richmond captain should again be a solid scorer in 2011. While it is uncommon for Newman to post very big scores we rarely, when ever view him post very low scores either. If you choose Newman it will be because a keeper and you can lock him in knowing he can score his 80 odd things daily.

Daniel Connors (Mid/Back) (2010 DT Avg: 92) (2010 SC Avg: 86)

Connors is another who improved markedly in 2010, growing his average Dream Team score from 36 in 2009 to 92 last year. While Connors isn't very as effective as Deledio in terms of scoring, they have the ability to find many the ball across half back and subsequently post big scores. The only doubt mark over Connors is his consistency in playing games because evidenced last year when he missed virtually half the season due to 'misdemeanours'. If you want an alternative choice to the usual defenders the there is no doubt that Connors presents a viable choice. Pick him though understanding that there is no guarantee of him playing every round despite his 'keeper' status.

Midfielders

Dustin Martin (Mid) (2010 DT Avg: 71) (2010 SC Avg: 78)

Martin had a wonderful start to his AFL job, averaging 20.2 disposals and having an incredible impact in the guts for the Tigers. This year should view further development from the young weapon even though he managed flip up to training a little underdone after the Christmas break. Picking him however would pose a risk because he can now come with a more expensive price-tag along with a lot more attention provided to him from the opposition.

Forwards

Shane Edwards (Fwd/Back) (2010 DT Avg: 70) (2010 SC Avg: 75)

Edwards had a solid year in 2010, managing to try out all 22 games for the season. Shane found himself because somewhat of the swingman, playing each up ahead and down back, too as playing the random role in the midfield. If he can find himself in the midfield regularly this year then Edwards may supply an option for those coaches searching for aahead or backline choice.

Rucks

None

If you are searching for a ruckman in 2011 then it's likely best not to look at any Richmond players. All of the Tiger's ruckmen are developing youngsters so that as such struggle to truly have a big impact against their bigger bodied enemies. If you were to look at a player for Richmond then possibly it would be best to look at a mature aged rookie in Derickx who can play at some stage an give somewhat of the pathway to the upgrade.
