Fans of the ABC network's comedy drama television series Pushing Daisies will be happy to hear that the show has been picked up for a full season. With this announcement, at least 19 more episodes of the series are slated for production, and what's been shown so far has been pleasing for most critics. It has been said that what's surprising about this deal is that an original show like this one was able to settle into a spot on network television, and do relatively well. This has been attributed to its significantly high ratings as one of the season's newest offerings. Pushing Daisies is thus the fourth newest series on the block which has gotten a green light for a full season. The others are the CW's Gossip Girl, the CBS network's Big Bang Theory, and ABC's Private Practice. As for the realm of reality television, Fox has gone ahead with plans for a second season of Kitchen Nightmares. But on the other hand, the new shows Viva Laughlin and Nashville have ended up on the cancellation chopping block, leaving the networks with 19 more decisions to face. ABC's decision to field its entire Wednesday night schedule with new shows was fairly risky, though Private Practice and Pushing Daisies both made the cut. The show has been described as colorful, bright and eccentric, with a unique premise and unconventional characters. Actor Lee Pace stars in Pushing Daisies as the character of Ned, who works as a pie maker. He has the extraordinary ability of bringing dead organisms, including people, back to life with but a touch of his hand. However, the catch is that they usually only stay alive for one minute. Also joining Ned in his escapades is Emerson Cod, a private investigator played by Chi McBride, who has Ned touch murder victims in order to help solve their cases.
