It's true that Smallville is shooting way up in Vancouver, British Columbia, but that does not mean that they will be unaffected by the ongoing WGA writers strike. In fact, the Smallville writers are Hollywood-based, and they have joined the bandwagon of writers going on strike. Although there has been no official word on how many scripts they have written prior to Monday, it seems that the series will be able to survive through the midseason. However, other shows such as The Office and Battlestar Galactica suffer a different fate. Smallville is lucky to continue production despite the strike. The producers have admitted that they foresaw the strike, and ended the final finished script on a cliff-hanger, so that it may look like a season ender. |
Kudos to the producers of Smallville, who made an effort to pad up the abrupt halt of the series. In fact, it wouldn't hurt to make the last script a bit more palatable for fans. Moreover, rumors surfaced that Tim Kring, creator of Heroes, refused to alter the last Heroes script to make it more of an ending. It is understandable, but fans must not feel the effects of this strike.
Moving back to Smallville, spoilers have been released by The CW and TV Guide for the next episode entitled "Wrath." The episode will feature Chloe challenging Lana to go up against her, if Lana intends to hurt Clark again. Moreover, Kryptonite and high voltage unite in a lightning storm, causing Lana to gain superpowers such as Clark 's. She then breaks into Lex's vault and steals some evidence revealing all his secrets. She submits them to Lois and Grant, who refuses to use the stolen material. Disappointed, Lana takes things into her own hands and deals with Lex alone. Clark comes to Lex's rescue and goes up against the superpowered Lana.
