In the early days of the RC helicopter, the most common sight was people in parks flying their helicopters, displaying all the acrobatic measures that they could manage and the helicopter could perform. For some people playing with a radio controlled helicopter is probably one of the only things that they can do all day and not get bored, although the range of the earlier models was very limited, some of the more expensive models available on the market today can be flown from miles away without any problem. However, the skill level required to pull off something like this is very high, this kind of work is best left to the professionals. The people who own a radio controlled helicopter will always tell you it is the most amazing experience that they have ever had. For starters this might prove to be quite hard, but there is nothing a little determination can’t get you over, you can learn to do stunts like mid air loops and what not. Some of the more advanced models of helicopters have better maneuverability, whereas some other models are built for the novices and don’t have such superior maneuverability because better maneuverability can only be managed by people with higher skill levels and the novices might not be able to handle such complexities. It has been some 20 years since the RC helicopters first came in to the market and people still haven’t been able to get over the idea of having a helicopter take off from your own yard. These helicopters can range from palm size to something as big as your writing table, and the cost varies too, from a few hundred dollars to maybe a few thousand dollars. As the competition keeps growing with each new manufacturer, some major manufacturers have gotten into a marketing war and have started flooding the market with newer, better models of RC helicopter almost every other month. This kind of competition is what is further helping the industry prosper because the people are seeing this as an opportunity to try out this new toy that everybody has been talking about. Unfortunately for all of us, like in all industries people have come in whose sole purpose is to suck the blood out of this industry by selling bogus radio controlled helicopters that aren’t up to standard and when the people don’t like what they have bought, rather than blaming the brand blame the merchandise and swear never to buy a RC helicopter again. Many experts advise that when learning how to fly RC helicopters one should buy the most basic version and then move along to more advanced models as their skills improve.
