There are building blocks made of many materials according to numerous designs available now. They are made of plastic, wood, leather, and various other synthetic materials. The designs vary according to the structures and purposes in them. The themes of building blocks vary and they may be used for building animals, countries, houses, vehicles, or to solve puzzles in a sum, questions, mathematics or any other complex things. In fact, with this type of toys, children are captivated more to their given lessons rather than when they are taught them verbally alone. One building block can be used for many years and some perhaps generations. They come in attractive boxes and all the parts can be perfectly replaced in the boxes until the next use. Gifting children building blocks is actually a great initiation that one can provide them with. With building blocks, children hardly get injured or suffer fatal accidents. Nevertheless, when selecting them, adults should be careful not to give ones with too small pieces to very young children below three years. Children in this age group tend to put anything they take in their mouths. The small pieces of building block can stick in their throats causing strangulation. It is better not to provide too small children with such blocks, especially with too small pieces due to this reason.
