Every state in the United States has to dedicate some of its resources in encouraging the safeguarding of the environment. One of the states that are largely considered in this is the state of Texas. This is the primary reason why builders are contractors are seriously considering Texas LEED . This state is among the main emitters of carbon in the world. There are many factors to explain this. One of the main is the fact that the state is the main oil producer in the united states. And it is obvious that fossil fuels usually have a high concentration of carbon. Along with oil production, this state largely depends on farming. That is why it is known for cowboys and animal keeping. Ironically, the farming and remoteness of Texas has also contributed to the high carbon emission. This is because more than a quarter of the population in Texas drives pickups and trucks that emit exhaust fumes high in carbon. These are the trucks that are mostly used for farming errands and moving around the state. Their use is even boosted by the fact that there is minimal heavy public transportation in the state. The high carbon emission rate in this state has made it very necessary to implement measures to minimize it. The US government in collaboration with other non-governmental bodies has already started several projects and enacted policies to help reduce the carbon emission. One of such is the Texas LEED. This is a certification program that is aimed at certifying buildings and constructions that are built in a green manner and to be environment friendly. Green buildings in the state are therefore given a Texas LEED status. The greener and more environment friendly the building, the higher the status. The encouragement of such designs is aimed at reducing the carbon emission in the state.
