Michael Emerson has made a living out of playing evil. (In)famous for portraying the notorious Ben Linus on Lost, Emerson ranks as one of today’s most terrifying baddies that haunt the subconscious of television audiences. However, the 53-year old actor who breathes life to the de facto head of the Others, contends that there may be much more to his Lost persona than just pure villainy. “Ben isn't a villain, he's just unknown,” Emerson told TV Guide. “He's been manipulative and occasionally violent, but we still don't know what he's up against.” “I have played many villains, but only on TV,” the actor also admitted. “It's a mystery to me because I don't look like a villain. I don't sound like one. But somewhere down the line someone decided that my mild-mannered exterior was the right delivery system for a wicked interior,” Emerson added dryly. In the past, Emerson essayed the character of Zep Hindle in 2004’s Saw, as well as William Hinks on the legal television drama, The Practice. He won an Emmy as Outstanding Guest Actor for his performance in the latter. Emerson offered a preview of what fans can expect to enjoy when Lost returns with its fourth season come February. “You will meet a bunch of new characters in Season 4, and you're not going to know what to make of them,” Emerson promises. “And in Lost, the characters who die aren't gone forever. I can tell you that the fourth season is haunted by the characters of the past,” Emerson also stated. Aside from possible resurrections among the Lost folk, Emerson also disclosed that the coming new season will not be for the weak of heart and stomach. “It's violent,” Emerson declared. “The first episodes have a lot of blood, sweat, tears, running in the jungle and beatings. Everything is in flux because no one has a community anymore. The castaways have abandoned their camp, the Others have been decimated and left their community. And now there's this tremendous threat from outside.” For more resources about Lost or for the full story of 'Lost' Villain Speaks About Season 4 please review http://www.buddytv.com
