Florida Birth Records account the births that have occurred since 1865 up to present time. These documents are held by the Bureau of Vital Statistics, who has the authority to issue these reports with the standard safety paper, which meets the requirements established by Homeland Security. There is a privacy law of the state that refrains these files from becoming public for 100 years. The modern Florida birth reports are strictly reserved and may only be released either to immediate relatives or when the person on the record has already passed away. Thus, those not part of immediate family should know that these files are not at all easy to get unless the person you're seeking the birth document of is deceased or is still living but is more than a 100 years old.
