Reed was able to survive both practice and qualifying where he clearly demonstrated his speed and skills by posting the fastest class time on his new Monster Energy Kawasaki KX450F. Unfortunately Reed had not been start the leading SX event. Reed crashed within the Daytona practices and broke the end of his thumb. This is a new thumb injury atop healing wrist injury. Chad Reed showed-up in the Dallas Supercross last week with the intent of racing. After further post on his health, the decision is created to not to race. Chad Reed Quote "I'm still working hard to keep returning during the Supercross season," said Reed. "I want to come back after I can, but I should also make sure I am 100 %. It is really week to week, but I'm riding now and we're going to do some outdoor testing soon." Now, Reed will miss the March 27th Supercross event at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium. His new target is always to return on April the 10th for any SX race at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas. Without any chance to win this year's AMA / FIM Supercross Championship, Reed looks to assist his teammate Ryan Villopoto in her quest to over take Ryan Dungey from the final 5 rounds: Tony Russo 02/08/2010 Go through the images below for bigger versions: Chad Reed, still recuperating from a broken hand sustained at the start of the 2010 Supercross Season, flew to California to find out his doctor recently. From that which we could tell, Reed is not prepared to ride his motorcycle or jump into the race action quite yet. Reed's new Kawasaki Team reports that Chad hopes to remain riding soon. Additionally they anticipate that Reed are going to be racing sometime later. This timing generally seems to jive with the original March 6th (Daytona) or March 13th (Toronto) return that is anticipated. While in California, Reed also made an appearance at Supercross Round 5 in San Diego this last weekend. Reed took time in order to satisfy some fans and sign autographs. He turned out to be in good sprits and truly spent almost all of his day while using the fans. Reed's championships desires 2010 are long gone but he will be happy to get back on the bike and demonstrate his riding skills on the Kawasaki. Round 6 in the 2010 Supercross Season heads here we are at the Angel Stadium, without Chad Reed or James Stewart, with the third and final visit in Anaheim (3) on February 13th.
