Almost everyone who has lived in a house, apartment, townhome, mobile home, motorhome or duplex has been faced with the problem of removing carpet stains. In this article we will discuss some of the best known methods of removing carpet stains. Specifically we will discuss how to remove bloodstains, ink stains, Kool-Aid stains, red wine stains and pet urine stains. After you read this article you should have enough information which will help you in removing carpet stains. One of the most difficult type carpet stains to remove is bloodstains. When removing carpet stains caused from blood, always use cold water. Using hot water will cause the stain is set. Apply small amounts of cold water and then began blotting the stain with white paper towels or white cloth towels. Continue this process until there is no more results of the stain being transferred to the cloth or paper towel. If there are still traces of the stain present, use a mild dish detergent mixed with cold water and rub lightly into the remaining stain and then blot as necessary. A good shop vac will also work very well removing excess water. Next we will look at removing ink stains. When removing ink stains it is best to try and remove the stain as soon as possible. A white cloth will be needed to blot the stain. The best thing to use to remove ink stains will be rubbing alcohol. Apply the rubbing alcohol to the white cloth a small amount at a time and slowly blot the ink stain, repeating this process until the stain is removed. Once the stain is removed, completely rinse and blot with cold water. Use a shop vac, if available, to remove the excess water. Kool-Aid stains are sometimes very difficult to remove. Kool-Aid stains, Red wine stains and other red stains can be very difficult to remove at times. Start by using a shop vac and removing as much liquid as possible. With Kool-Aid stains use blue Dawn dishwashing detergent and mix with cold water. Dampen a white cloth with this solution and then lay on the stain. Do not rub or press too hard on the stain. Use an iron on the low setting and place it on the cloth for 10 to 15 minutes. The stain will weep into the cloth through this process. Use a clean cloth and repeat this process until the stain is removed. When removing pet urine stains is very important to try and blot the stain with paper towels as soon as possible. Mix a small amount of dishwashing detergent with warm water and apply this solution to the stain. Slowly blot or vacuum the stain to remove the solution. Repeat this process two or three times until you feel comfortable that the stain has been removed. Removing carpet stains can sometimes be very difficult; however, following these simple instructions can make the process of removing blood stains, Kool-Aid stains, ink stains, red wine stains and urine stains, much easier and hopefully successful.
