How many times have you read on the Internet pleas to 'help me calm down'. Often these stories are seemingly banal about the pressures of family life, relationships, work problems and so on. Understanding what we go through when stressed out and anxious and how it can help us to get out of tunnel at the other end is crucial. Do not be influenced one way or the other by the Buddhist slant because this book gave me great advice when it really did help me, and I learned techniques to help me relax in the middle of all the chaos and learned how not to panic. But when I also need supplements for depression and anxiety I use herbal remedies. The first reason is that I am convinced that these are sufficient for my needs as I do not wish to go down the medication path with anti depressants. The most popular ones are St. John's Wort and th Passion Flower. Then I know that with some lifestyle changes, I can make great progress and the plea, help me calm down, becomes less urgent and pressing.
