Although there was no viable ground for hope, Abraham had hope. Romans 4: 18 says, "Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, so shall thy seed be". Abraham employed faith to defeat hopelessness. Because of GOD's promise, he decided to remain positive rather than negative. It appeared that Sarah, his wife, would never be capable of giving birth again, and though Abraham was pushed into impregnating Hagar in order to beget Ishmael, he still stood by GOD's promise. How would you stand if you were in his shoes? Staying connected with GOD ensures the firmness of your hope, but staying away from him develops a shaky foundation, alot of disbelief, fear and failure. That's one of the reasons why it's easy for certain people to go extreme miles by commiting suicide! Any connection with GOD brings resounding hope, vigor and joy. It's unfortunate that many people value their connection with human beings rather than how they value any connection with the Owner and Ruler of universe. Take note what the Bible says about such people: "Woe unto him that putteth his trust in the arm of flesh" - Jeremiah 17: 5. GOD will never ever shatter your hopes but human beings can do so, even when they have no intentions to. Remember to always stay connected to GOD, for in so doing your hope would be eternally guaranteed. Even though GOD gives you man-made connections in order to achieve that which you desire, your focus must always be fixed on Him as the Creator of all things. Make an effort never to loose sight of GOD - the One Who established the connection. The connection can cut off any day but the Source will remain there forever. GOD is reliable and unwavering in His faithfulness to mankind, infact He never changes. On the other hand, human beings are prone to make changes at any time; they are highly unreliable. To be on a safer side, make it a habit to rely totally on GOD because connecting only to man can bring you negative experiences which are unexpected at times. Tighten your link with GOD and you would never have to run helter skelter. Furthermore, His attention on how to tackle your future challenges will be there long before you even get to sense any trouble. Install GOD's Words spiritually into your life when the tides are calm, so that you wouldn't be taken unawares when calamity comes.
