The Roman Catholic Church had plans aimed at amalgamating paganism and Christianity together and the two eventually got married. This mission was achieved by the skillful adjustments and changing of times and seasons and faking one or two scriptures with carnal interpretations to seal up their mischievous acts. Despite the complicated measures they cleverly made adjustments to the calendar and found no difficulty in tying up paganism and Christianity plunging them into the pit of idolatry. The Roman church replaced Passover with Easter and moved the pagan feast of Tammuz from June to early spring; ‘Christianizing’ it lent season as a solemn religious season that must be kept by all believers. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:23-24KJV Man is a soul and he is expected to feed his soul with the undiluted Word of God. He is meant to live by it. The natural food can temporally satisfy the body but does not satisfy the desires of the soul. This is revealed by our Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 4:4. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Matt 4:4KJV The scripture in Psalms 119:89 also revealed that the Word of God is settled in Heaven. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. Ps 119:89KJV Jesus Christ made a statement vital to our yearning for Him in John 10:35. If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; John 10:35KJV God from generation to generation commanded His people not to be entangled with the traditions and customs of the Pagans of this world yet in disobedience even those called by His name take pleasure in joining in these abominable practices. The scripture in 2corinthians 6:14-18 states: Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. 2 Corinthians 6:14-18KJV Similarly God gave a stern warning in a related scripture in Revelation 18:2-4 to His people seeing that all the denominational Churches have turned out to become Babylonian in nature and design. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. Rev 18:2-4KJV Lent may seem like a very sincere and earnest religious observance in the eyes of the world but God has revealed several times through His servants that it is deeply rooted in Paganism and He hates all pagan observances.
