Electronic RCIED Countermeasures Many RF and Counter IED jammers are used for ground protection and convoy. The threat of Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Devices is constantly faced by the military forces around the world. These are used by the terrorists for harming the ground troop and convoys. Improvised explosive devices and homemade bombs are attached to the RF receivers. These include cellular phones, two way radios, remote controls and pagers. Thus, the terrorists are enabled to use the transmitter remotely. IEDs can be detonated as well. As there is constant development of threat technologically, advanced operational capabilities have to be maintained by the military forces. RCIED countermeasures can also be used here. They are defeat solutions that are based on adaptive technology. They take into account future and current threats. Electronic countermeasures can be used to counter IED. They are known as bomb jammers or IED jammers. RCIED countermeasures are also provided.
