While Katherine Heigl’s turn on the hit medical drama, Grey’s Anatomy, has primarily given her a platform to showcase her skill as a dramatic actress, she is the first to admit that comedy is far more enjoyable for her. "The best time I have is doing comedy," the Emmy Award-winning co-star of Grey’s Anatomy said. "It's the thing I love the most, the thing I'm the most passionate about. Not to say I don't ever want to do drama but as long as I can sort of ride this horse, I'm going to." Although her Emmy win was a testament to her more serious moments onscreen as Dr. Izzie Stevens on Grey’s Anatomy, the recently-married Heigl has had her share of successful comedies since the start of her career. Early on, as a relative newcomer to Hollywood , the actress enjoyed a rousing debut in film via the big screen vehicle, My Father the Hero, alongside Gerard Depardieu. Most recently, Heigl’s star climbed even higher than her Grey’s Anatomy fame, when her movie, Knocked Up, became one of last summer’s surprise blockbusters. Her latest picture, 27 Dresses, about a girl stuck in the role of a bridesmaid, is yet another opportunity for Heigl to flex her comedic muscles. "I tend to usually be the foil or the girlfriend or the sister or daughter, and this was a great opportunity to be quirky and funny myself," Heigl said, adding that her best work on Grey's Anatomy is when the writers give her something funny or hilarious to play out. In real life, the actress didn’t have to don the bridesmaid’s dress 27 times before walking down the aisle. Two days before Christmas last year, she exchanged “I Dos” with musician Josh Kelley in ceremonies that took place in Deer Valley , Utah . "What was so great about the movie [27 Dresses] is that somebody else was planning each one of those 27 weddings," Heigl said. "I thought it was going to be so much easier."
