On 6th July, the Symposium to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of Shaanxi Federation of Trade Unions was held in Xi an. ACFTU sent a congratulatory message. Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC and Secretary of the provincial Discipline Inspection Commission, Guo Yongping, the Standing Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the People s Congress, Yang Yongmao, the Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the People s Congress and Chairman of Shaanxi Federation of Trade Unions, Huang Wei attended the symposium. Guo Yongping and Huang Wei made important speeches respectively. In the symposium, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions in Yanta District of Xi an Li Xiaochuan and other 25 members were granted the title of Shaanxi Outstanding Trade Union Worker . Three representative workers, such as the former Chairman of Shaanxi Federation of Trade Unions Gao Yingmin made speeches in the symposium. Guo Yongping expressed sincere regards to a great number of workers and masses in all walks of life on behalf of the provincial Party Committee and provincial government in the speech. He pointed out that Shaanxi Federation of Trade Unions had scrupulously implemented lines, principles and policies formulated by CPC, actively advocated all staff members to make painstaking efforts and struggle hard, focusing on respective main tasks in different periods, aiming at contributing to the economic development and social progress in Shaanxi province during these 60 years. At present, Shaanxi has stepped onto a new historical point, all workers around the province should strengthen their sense of responsibility and mission in a bid to make new achievements with broader vision, more practical attitudes and higher morale. Guo Yongping stressed that trade unions at all levels must carry forward its fine traditions, bear in mind their glorious mission, exercise all functions in an all-round way, give full play to the role of organizing, leading, servicing workers and protecting the legitimate rights of workers, and to the greatest extension integrate all intelligence and strengths with decisions and deployment made by the provincial Party Committee, thus creating new respects in trade union work. In the speech, Huang Wei reviewed the 60-year-long glorious course and basic experience of trade union in Shaanxi. She stressed that trade unions at all level should make unremitting efforts to create new respects in our work from the 60 year anniversary of Shaanxi Federation of Trade Unions as the new starting point.
