A national initiative supported by different sectors of society such as the federal, state, and local safety boards, law enforcement agencies, and motorcycle organizations, the Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month encourages motorists and motorcyclists to “share the road” with each other. This month of May marks the beginning of safety awareness information dissemination to help lessen injuries and fatalities caused by accidents involving motorcycles. Bad weather such as heavy rains and snow would not only make vision hard but would also make roads slippery and dangerous. • Check your motorcycle – before leaving, always make sure you check that your motorcycle is in top condition. Check the breaks, tires, and other parts of the motorcycle. • Use signals – turn signals are very important. Learn them and use them all the time.
