I was so very pleased to see you on the segment with I was so very pleased to see you on the segment with Bob Norman on Channel 10. I must say it pleased me to know that a friend like you still keeps me in his thoughts. I still think back at the many years (almost 20 years) we have known each other – since when you were married to Mereliee. (we had met on her first but unsuccessful run for Judge to which I had made a contribution. The letter acknowledging its receipt is still very mush in possession) You cannot imagine how shocked I was when I had heard of your divorce with her back in the 80s- I think. It had been a time when we had all been part of the same “gang” so to speak, involved in community and political affairs – always running into each other. You mentioned a near fist fight in your interview on 10. Norm, when did this ever occur? You were fundamentally asked to leave the Supervisor of Elections in Broward due to lack of attendance – which you explained to me as illness bouts you were suffering. At that time I had just launched the Human Relations Council under an approved MOU with the State of Florida, HRC. I needed a Executive Director and thought you might do well during that start-up phase. (You were never the Campaign Manager that was a shared responsibility given to David Brown, Beverly Stracher and Vinnie Grande) But like your time at the SOE you were sick more days then present. The most notable deed under you administration of the HR Council was the printing bills I got for material that never saw sunshine. The bounced check you mentioned came from an account you were managing and I simply signed on. Really, Norm. Bad form and Poor taste. The misconstruction of the information no doubt is the result of many years of a dependency problem of prescribed medication and alcohol. I understand the affect it can have on the perception of reality – and that, no doubt is the result of what I saw on the segment. Cacciatore (RON) once informed me of your soliciting of prostitutes and the illegitimate child you had fathered – that you later told me yourself and boasted proudly enough how you had been able to evade the obligation of child support. Norm some have more issues in life more than others. In some instances it is always the strong that are attacked, because the little fish always dream of being able to devour the large, or simply the larger target can absorb the hit and let the little fellow go. But there comes a time when enough is enough. Really Norm I am no professional to understand the workings of the mind, but as a friend I can say – its time you got continuous help - not the breaks in therapy you have had. You do not need to go just when you get suicidal or fall into depression. As time passes and you age I can recognize there is pain when one sees a father commit suicide – look at what it has done to you. I wish you the very best, but please Norm for your own well being it is best to seek and get the help – it will not only lend to an improved life but one where memories are reflected accurately. No doubt we shall meet again and soon. Be Well. I must say it pleased me to know that a friend like you still keeps me in his thoughts.
