Training toilet or toilet training or just using the potty is something which every child has to go through in his or her life. There is simply no escaping this at all. But it is the bigger training toilet that is more difficult for most children as they are simply afraid of sitting on potty chairs or on toilet seats in the bathrooms. These children have to be slowly allowed to play with potty chairs first and made to sit on the chairs with their clothes on. After a few days when they are more or less comfortable to climbing on to the potty chairs and sitting on them make sure that you have removed their clothes. They will then sit on the potty and do it while you play with them or hand over a small toy for them to play with or you could even sit by their sides to read a book. What children need is reassurance that they are not alone while they do their potty on a potty chair or in the toilet. You will know that kids want to do their toilet when you find them suddenly stopping all their activities and becoming quiet suddenly with a serious look on their face. Now you should gently help them to sit on the potty chair and wait patiently till the finish. Take them along when you take the potty and its contents to be flushed in the toilet. Let them do the flushing. This will instil a lot of confidence in them and they will have no fears to be toilet trained either. You can buy the special toilet seats for children, which is available in the market and install the same on the regular toilet seat. And while the child is doing his toilet you also wait in the toilet and reassure the child that there is nothing to fear at all. Reward your child every time he or she uses the toilet as this will truly help them to be more confident. Encourage them regularly by cheering them once the potty training is over.
