College life is the one time in a person’s life where all the emotions turn into passion, where butterflies in the stomach become somewhat like stomach juices that you want to throw out of your system – depending on who caused it. College is not all about research papers, projects, reviews, exams, quizzes – it is about causes, ambitions, and life-changing decisions. Included in those life-changing moments is heartache over a failed serious relationship. A good number of people meet the ‘one’ during their college years and that is where everything becomes long-term. For some college is the perfect time to goof around, but for some, this is the time to look for that one person that has the potential to tolerate and love your insanity. When things go bad Unfortunately, not all love stories in college go bright and sunny. Some don’t end happily, they just end. If you were really into that relationship, things can really go south. Some drop out, some transform to a dark being. These things happen especially if there was an engagement or a commitment that there would be marriage after graduation or if the couple are co-habitating. Turning over a new leaf The first remedy is to let yourself feel the pain of loss. Shout. Cry. Throw things. Starve yourself. Do these in a week and you yourself will realize that you’re wasting your time over something that can be turned into something great. Do things for yourself and nobody else. When you were in the relationship, everything was done for the other person. Your happiness depended on another human being. Now, it is time to be selfish to a decent degree. Reinvent your looks. If you have been dying to sport semi-plunging necklines, by all means go. Initially, you will do a makeover because you want the other person to regret that the two of you are over, but overtime, you will stay gorgeous because it makes you feel good, not because you want the other person to drool over you – well, maybe still, to some degree. Heartaches are a part of life, be it during college or even those who are in their retirement age. The most important thing is that heartaches give you the opportunity to be good to yourself again, to love the real you, even if nobody has yet to do the same. Reference: Visit College Life
