Hyperbole definition and examples – this is a great way to make a statement or to emphasis something that a writer, poet or an author would like to say. Hyperbole definition and examples are being done by exaggeration. Sometimes it looks irrational but we should take it literately, we should understand it figuratively. For example the sentence: "the bank clerk will kill me if I will not pay for the loan". If we read it literately we might think that a certain person will die if he won’t pay for the loan. But in real life it doesn’t happen like this. So when we read it as a figure of speech we can understand that the man has cash flow problem and the bank will impose sanction on him if he will not return the money on time. They might increase the interest he has to pay or even to confiscated assets. So in this situation we can understand that the speaker is afraid or worry about his financial situation. He knows that the bank will not physically harm him but he is afraid or worries about his problem and this is why he is exaggerating. According to the hyperbole definition it is a way to give us messages without writing them. The author talks about something but really he is saying to us another thing and sometimes a different thing. It also might be similar to ironic situations. Poetry and writing are forms of art; this is also the reason why the artists are using different ways to deliver the message. There are many ways it which they can expresses feelings and thoughts. But we, the reader also have to be aware of this literature characteristic to fully understand a poem or a story. When we read a text we should do it very carefully so we will not miss the main propose of the words. You and your friend can read something and both of you will understand different things from it. This happen when someone is aware of these artistic ways and figures of speech while the other is not. Hyperbole definition and examples at Define definition.
