Last Saturday, I went home and took my niece to play the piano. On the way to the piano room, she told me that one of her classmates worn a beautiful skirt and she begged me to buy one for her if I am free. “Sure, I am fond of seeing beautiful little girls! But once you put on a new skirt, you should not be fragile like an empty vase.” I said. Hearing that, she got confused with the definition of an empty vase, and I remembered the vase theory told by Wu Suzhen, then I explained to her, “Do you like an empty vase if it is here?” “Of course, I will like it very much.” She answered unthinkingly. “But if the vase is empty, it will be broken when you slightly touch it, however, if you fill the vase with sands or water, it is heavy enough not to be knocked over.” I said. After thinking for a while, she said, “Yes, it will never fall down like the tumbler if it is filled with things.” “How clever you are. Every girl should be like a beautiful vase ! In order not to get broken, you should study hard all the time and make your brain rich and clever. Hence, we should not be an empty vase that is beautiful in appearance, but empty in inherence. Now tell me, which one do you like to be, an empty vase or a vase full of sands?” “Of course, I want to be a vise filled with sands so as not to be broken quickly!” She answered indefinitely and I smiled. The next day, she told this story to her grandpa and said to her plausibly, “I want to be a beautiful vase with lots of sands instead of an empty vase.” No matter whether she understood my meaning or not, she has already leant to think at least, and I hope that she will learn to understand the truth of things in the process of growing up. Yes, in my opinion, we should pay equally attention to our appearance and inherence. Of course, beauty is human nature, but we should improve our ability so as to make us powerful. Gradually, we will become rich like a beautiful vase full of sands. Finally, do you like to know more about vases? If you do, you can pay a visit to stonebtb.
