Danny Joe was the first one to find diamonds in Africa in 1866. One day, he visited his friend Jacobus in Hopetoun, where is 120 kilometers far away from Kimberley. He caught Jacobus’ little son playing games with a grounp of children. Among the stones there was a special stone. As Danny was fond of collecting beautiful stone, so he asked Jacobus’s little son, “Where does this stone from?” “I picked it by the river of Orange.” And then Jacobus said to him generously, “if you like it, you can take it.” Hence, Jacobus took away this “littlestone”, which was destined to be recorded in the history of Africa. Later on, it was identified as a diamond of 21.25 carat by a geologist, Dr Arthur, who lived in Grahmastown. Nevertheless, this diamond called “YouLei Card” didn’t cause the tide of looking for diamonds in Africa. Instead, the second diamond that Danny got set off in the African craze three year later. Unlike the past, Danny worked hard to get the second “little stone”. He got it from a shepherd in Gerry Kua area at a high price, which was similar to that of 500 sheep, 10 cattle and 1 horse. But it was worth doing that, for it was identified as a diamond, which had a weight of 83.5 carat. It was called “Star of South Africa” and the England colonial secretary in Cape Town couldn’t help claiming to the world that the success of South Africa in the future lied in this stone. Hence, a great many people who dreamed of being wealthy rushed to South Africa and Kimberly. If we say that it is hard and dangerous to dig gold under the ground, then it is quite different to dig diamonds. Some people even call diamond mine as “gentlemen mine”. The traditional way of digging diamonds it to dig them from the ground down mining. Although South Africa was rich in diamonds, it was nearly impossible for you to buy cheap diamonds there. Since diamond industry is of highly monopoly, so diamonds are sold at the same price around the globe. In other words, if diamonds are really good, you will pay nearly the same money for them wherever you are. Finally, are you fascinated with shinning diamonds? Do you want to have more materials about diamonds? If so, you can discuss with me and I will share much useful information with you on stonebtb.
