Do you know what Crime and Punishment is? Don't grow anxiety if you do not, many people don't know what Crime and Punishment is. The story a prominent Russian novel created by a man named F dostoevsky. Crime and punishment has accumulated considerable aclaim throughout the world and is considered one of the best novels of all history. The book is centered around a dirt poor Russian male, whose self-importance and extreme need make him him to commit a terrible crime. This commentary summarizes the 7th chapter of the story, one of the overall most important chapters in the story. Section 7, transitions from Chapter six which illustrates how Raskolnikov has adapted for the crime, preparing a fabricated trinket and placing an hatchet in a jacket. He is currently at the doorstep of the pawnbroker and is extremely nervous. He pushes the doorbell several times. Later the pawnbroker opens the door and lets him in. He gives her a fraudulent cigarette case which is covered in a looped rope. The the rich old woman struggles to open the case. In this moment he uncovers the hatchet and slashes her with the axe, maiming the pawnbroker. He searches for the pawnbroker's keys and finds they keys. Raskolnikov then ventures into the adjacent room. He only finds a couple trinkets in the back of the room. Although, Raskolnikov expected to find more money. Suddenly, Lizaveta, the pawnbroker's sister comes into the room and sees the pawnbroker's dead body on the carpet. However, Raskolnikov also slays her. He then realizes the door has not been closed at all. By this time Raskolnikov is very frightened and does not know what to do. Raskolnikov washes his hands and quickly locks the entrance to room. Soon, two men come knocking. Raskolnikov manages to escape to another room. He is able to find his way home and replaces the axe into its hiding position. He then goes back to his apartment.
