Once there was a family in a small town. The elder brother worked in the museum, but the little brother had been laid off for two years. Their father died right now and they have an over seventy-year-old mother. As soon as finishing his father’s funeral, they gathered their relatives to negotiate their mother’s support and division of the family property. Firstly, it was bout how to take good care of their mother. As to money and food that should be given to their mother, these two brothers were generous and deal with it very successfully and smoothly. And then the topic was about the division of the family property. Their father left a house of four rooms, a deposit of 40000 dollars and a vase. According to his father’s will, as long as they deal with their mother’s life well, these family property would be divided to them. Since my living condition is better than my little brother, and both of my wife and I have a good job, house and wage. Besides, our children have graduated from university and take jobs. Hence, we basically have no burden in our life. On the contrary, both of my little brother and his wife were laid off and they had to rent a house. What is worse, my nephew studied in a high school. Hence, I decide to give all money and house to my little brother.” Of course, his little brother was moved by him, but he insisted on sharing the family property with his elder brother. So his elder brother had to say, “How about giving the house and money to you? And I will take the vase that left by our parents to be an everlasting memory. Finally, his little brother had to agree. After reading this story, I was touched by the true affection between these brothers from the bottom of my heart. In our competitive society, it is more and more difficult to survive; so many people will run after their own interests for the sake of others’ happiness, fame or even life.
