Once there was a little boy picking up stones on the beach. Every time, he picked up one, he would throw away it immediately, for he thought it was not the most beautiful. When the dusk was coming, all other children picked a basket of beautiful stones, but he was sad and his basket was empty. In our daily life, like this little boy, there are many people running after what are the best in their eyes. As a consequence, they gain nothing. Why? Because people often devote their lives to chasing and seeking for their favorite things, and they are so busy that they have no time to appreciate beautiful sceneries on the way. As Turgenev said, “If you want to lead a meaningful life, you should walk and pick up the flowers besides the road at the same time, so your life will be beautiful and sweet.” Some people aimed their goals so high that they couldn’t achieve it even though they had made every effort to do it. Maybe they don’t know that they choices are far beyond their ability. Now let’s take a fairy tale called “Kuafu Running After the Sun” for instance When I told this story to my son, he asked me back very sharply, “How foolish he is! Didn’t he know that the temperature of the sun’s surface is very high? The sun accompanies him everyday, so why did he chase it?” After hearing his words, I fall into thought. It is no deny that Kuafu was a strong person, who ran after light, but he made a common mistake, that is, he gave up light besides him. The beauty of the reality was everlasting, but the beauty of speculation is always a kind of imagination. Hence, people always lead a young life blindly, and then realize that what they run after is just a romantic imagination. Finally, please remember that every day or footstep in your life will be worth remembering forever. Never give up your gains randomly. As long as it is a stone that is worth collecting on your way, you should put it into the pocket of life no matter how small it is. Why? Because every stone has its own history and value. After reading this story, are you getting interested in stones and want to gain much information about them? If you are, you can pay a visit to stonebtb.
