When I was a little child, I liked to call at my grandpa’s house, which was near the mountain and river. In my childhood it was just like a paradise, and I was quite fond of lying on the big stone besides the stream and taking a nap. The small fish would swim freely and played hide-and-seek with other fish under the water, so they got too excited to fall asleep. Then our grandma would reproach me lightly in the dim candle and ordered me to go to sleep quickly. When I hid myself in bed, I would count my harvest for the whole day. My second aunt gave eggs to me, the little partners picked walnuts for me, and the cobblestones that picked up by myself under the water. The slippery cobblestones were very smooth. This one had black pattern, that one had a little plum blossom, this one looked like an apple, that one looked like a grape. Holding them in hands, you would feel that they were every hard. When I was a child, I heard that cobblestones were naughty stones from the mountain and their figures became smooth after being beaten by water for thousands of years. At that time, I couldn’t understand that how the hard-featured stones became my favorite round toy in my hands. How time flies, 20 years have passed, and I returned to my grandma’s home alone. The walnut tree in front of her house was cut down, the childhood partners had varnished, and only the cobblestones still nodded to me. Time had left its impress upon me and the wonderful sceneries have changed totally, but these small pebbles still stayed under the water even though they were eroded, beaten and baptized by water. Gradually, the cobblestones remind me of me. As the saying goes, the person is in the river’s lake, always choice. Like these small cobblestones, I am polished by invisible water. The naughty child, frivolous teenager and unruly youth have been destroyed by the time, finally I become smooth like a cobblestone. Hence, I am optimistic enough to bear loneliness, overcome difficulties no matter what happens in my life and believe everything will get better if I make up my mind to do it.
