It is said that Taj Mahal was built by the Muslin Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan to honor his beloved late wife Mumtaz Mahal in the 1600s. In the over 20 years that Shah Jahan married Mumtaz Mahal, they were always together. In 1622, 38-year-old Mumtaz Mahal, and Shah Jahan was very sad. Since Mumtaz Mahal’s final wish was to sleep in a beautiful tomb, so Shah Jahan designed it personally, employed thousands of workers and spent much money on it. Finally, it cost 22 years to build Taj Mahal. Originally, Shah Jahan wants to build a black same tomb for himself on the opposite bank and a black and white bridge between these tow tombs, but his son staged a coup d'état, took the throne and imprisoned him in agra fort. Hence Shah Jahan had his rest life in agra fort and overlooked Taj Mahal through a small window day and night. People who pay a visit to Taj Mahal will be enchanted by its white, crystal and exquisite figure. This is a palatial cemetery, which is totally built by white marbles, and it is an ancient classic work. Once Tagore spoke highly of it and said Taj Mahal was a drop of tear on the cheek of time. In people’s eyes, Taj Mahal is the pronoun of India. It is said that it was best to visit Taj Mahal at night, for it looks especially elegant, pure and charming in the dim moonlight. The white marble tomb seems to be refined and beautiful like fairies. With condensed brilliant culture of a great nation and ancient civilization, Taj Mahal becomes one of the seven world wonders. It reveals high architectural design level in the world and reflects the best art and style of architecture. In those days, Shah Jahan made every effort to build such a magnificent and grand tomb for his favorite imperial concubine, which illustrated that he loved her very much. After he died, he was also burned in Taj Mahal. In short, Taj Mahal is a great love monument, which witnesses a king’s deep love to his wife and tells people about their moving stories.
