In ancient times, there was an emperor intending to build a temple in the capital, so he ordered ministers to find skilled architects, wishing to build a beautiful and solemn temple. Afterwards, two groups of people gathered in front of the emperor, one was made up of famous craftsmen and painters in the capital, the other consisted of several monks. Since the emperor couldn’t decide which group’s skill was better, so he decided to give both of them a chance. He demanded these two groups of people to build a small templerespectively, but these two temples should be opposite to each other, and he would accept the results. Craftsmen asked for paints in more than one hundred colors and many tools, but to the emperor’s surprise, the monks only wanted some simple cleaning products, such as rags, buckets and so on. Three days later, the emperor had an acceptance of their temple. Firstly, he looked at the temple adorned by craftsmen, who used many paints, made full use of their exquisite skills to adorn this temple of all colors, so the emperor nodded with satisfaction. And then he looked back to the other temple renovated by monks and he stood in amazement at first sight. Instead of painting this temple, the monks cleaned all the walls, tables, chairs and windows inside it. Hence all things showed their original colors and their glossy surface was like a mirror, which immaculately reflected the colors from outside. The changeable clouds in the sky, swaying shadows of trees, and even the opposite colorful temple had become one part of this temple, which accepted everything peacefully. Finally, the emperor was deeply moved by this solemn temple and the monks won the game. In fact, our hearts like temples, which are pure, peaceful and sincere. What we need to do is let our inner beauty emerged immaculately instead of beautifying our hearts by different kinds of decorations. If you are confused by something or some people, you might as well ignore them and keep calm. When you are able to deal with them, you can calmly and elegantly manage them. After all, the hand of time will comfort you and make you become softer and wiser. Unconsciously, you will get rid of troubles and gain happiness.
