Jersey Shore Dogs Helps Husky House Expand Services with Group Classes Positive Reinforcement-Based Group Dog Training Classes Now Offered to New Jersey Dog Owners MATAWAN, NJ – July 16, 2012 – Jersey Shore Dogs, provider of positive reinforcement based, in-home dog training and behavior problem consulting, today announced a partnership with Husky House Rescue that will allow it to offer group training classes, starting with puppy kindergarten, to New Jersey dog owners. Husky House already offers overnight boarding, day care, doggy day camp, and grooming services at its newest facility, Snowdog Lodge, in Matawan, NJ. Starting in August, puppy kindergarten classes will take place once a week, for one hour, over the course of six weeks and will be held indoors at the Lodge, located at 391 Route 34 in Matawan, NJ. The training area is sanitized daily, climate controlled and free parking is available directly in front of the facility. Classes will be small, with no more than six enrollees, giving each puppy a greater chance to succeed on a more individual basis. They will also receive more one-on-one interaction and personalized attention from the certified dog trainer in a controlled class setting. “Early socialization is extremely important, so exposing your puppy to as many new people, other dogs and animals, sights, sounds and places during their developmental stage is critical,” said Matt Tuzzo, owner and head trainer, Jersey Shore Dogs. “Early socialization can make a puppy less likely to develop fear and/or aggression issues as it gets older, and instead, help pave the way for him or her to become a well-adjusted, confident, and happier adult dog.” Using positive reinforcement-based training methods, the most powerful tools for shaping or changing a dog’s behavior, puppy kindergarten classes will cover: • Puppy Socialization (with people and other dogs) • Basic Behaviors (sit, down, stand and coming when called) • Problem Prevention (nipping/mouthing, chewing, jumping up) • Bite Inhibition • Handling and Confidence Building • House Training 101 “Jersey Shore Dogs uses aversive-free training methods and a science-based approach, so we are excited to be able to offer force free training at the Lodge,” said Lorraine Healy, founder and president, Husky House and Snowdog Lodge. “With the addition of group dog training classes, our clients can now take advantage of our full range of services including overnight boarding, day care, doggy day camp, and grooming services.” After completing the six week class, puppy kindergarten graduates will receive a certificate of completion.
