The former president of American Brown University Waertan-Gray Ann’s childhood was very unfortunate. When he was very six years old, his mother died of serious illness, so it was his grandma brought him up in a mountainous region of Iran. His grandma was also an unfortunate woman. Because of battles and illness, she lost all her children. Although the fate wasn’t fair to her, she didn’t lose confidence of life. In order to help Gray get through the shadow of losing families and grow up happily, his grandma often instructed him, “Dear child, you should bear two things in mind. Firstly, sometimes you are not able to master fate, for there are many unknown in the world. Secondly, you can grasp your own personality. You can lose beauty, health and wealth, but you couldn’t lose your personality, which is held in your hands.” It is no deny that his grandma’s words have played a key role in his bringing. Ok, now I would like to share you another story, and I also believe you will learn much from it. As the famous host of American TV News, Walter Cronkite was very interested in news in his childhood, and he became a little journalist of “school news” held by school when he was 14 years old. Fred Williams, an editor of Huston daily news would teach the course of news for an hour in Cronkite’s school. One time, he was responsible for writing an article about the school athletics coach, Card-Harding. Since there was a meeting that day, Cronkite finished the article casually. In the next day, Fred called him to the office, pointed to the article and said, “This article is rather terrible, you didn’t ask him some necessary questions and report him completely, you even didn’t make clear his occupation.” And then, he continued, “Cronkite, you should bear that if something is worth doing, then do it well.” After that, Cronkite remembered his instruction and make great contributions to the career of news. After hearing these two stories, to be honest, I have learnt much from them. Yes, we should cultivate the habit of caution no matter what do in our daily life. If not, we will come across failure and couldn’t reach the opposite bank of opportunity. In short, do you want to know more about stones? If you do, you can get in touch with me and gain much useful information from stonebtb.
