In 1858, a woman in a Sweden rich family gave birth to a daughter; however, before now the child suffered from an uncountable paralysis and lost the ability of walking. Once a time, her families and she went to travel by boat together, and the wife of the captain told her that the captain had a bird of paradise. Upon hearing that, she was attracted by the bird and became eager to see it by herself. So the nurse left her on the board and she went to find the captain. But the child couldn’t bear to wait, so she demanded a waiter on the ship took her to look at the bird immediately. Since the waiter didn’t know she couldn’t walk, so he only asked her to follow him. The miracle happened, because of her strong desire to see the bird, she seized the waiter’s hand and walked slowly. From then on, her illness was healed. And when she grew up, she devoted her whole life to literary works, and finally became the first female to win the Nobel Prize for literature. To be honest, this short story gives me an important lesson. Nowadays, it is not difficult to survive in this competitive world, where you should improve yourselves step and step and become strong day after day. It is no deny that with the rising of prices of housing, vegetables, fruits, oil and so on, it is more difficult to make money and save money. Hence, current people have much more pressures than before and some of them often skipped from one job to another so as to get better treatments. In my opinion, this is not the radical way to solve problems. Instead, if we calm down firstly, make clear our advantages and disadvantages and analyze the market demand, we will try to exploit our strong points and avoid exposing our weaknesses so as to make us sought-after. Nowadays, with the fast development of technology and frequent communication between counties, high-tech knowledge and language application are very favored by people. Hence, we should live and learn. As the saying goes, “Never too old to learn”, for life can teach you a lot of lessons. Besides, bear in mind never to regard you as a mouse, or else, you will be eaten by a cat. Selflessness is the shortcut to walk towards success. Finally, do you want to know more about stones?
