The Test of English for International Communication, or TOEIC, has become a standard among thousands of institutions worldwide. Before taking the test, it might be best for one to understand what the TOEIC test format comprises. All of the questions use general, conversational English. The second area of the TOEIC exam is the reading comprehension piece. Like the first section, it is also made up of one hundred questions. This part is all on paper on people are allowed seventy-five minutes to finish this segment of the test. Part two is broken down into pieces, much like the first part. First is a section of forty incomplete sentences where the participant must fill in the word or words needed to complete the sentence. Second are twelve questions requiring text completion. Third are twenty-eight questions regarding seven to ten single passages, each having two to five questions about each passage. Finally, the last section is comprised of twenty questions related to four pairs of reading texts with five questions related to each pair. The entire TOEIC test does not require that you have an extraordinary English vocabulary. All of the questions try to create a real life setting in an international workplace. The questions are designed to reflect what would actually be said in the office, in meetings, at meals and similar situations.
