When you own a Riviera Maya home, there will be a regular supply of guests who want to come visit. This weekend, my wife and I had the pleasure of hosting my in-laws and her grandparents, who came to stay with us. Our Riviera Maya property continues to draw friends and family, and we are very happy to have them. Aside from hanging out on the patio, or on the beach, drinking and discussing a wide variety of subjects, we also enjoyed some great times exploring Playa del Carmen, Puerto Aventuras land and, of course, Tulum. My father-in-law and I actually spend two days kiteboarding in Tulum, and two more days in Puerto Aventuras. Although we just got back from a kiteboarding trip to Hawaii, I have to say there is no place more beautiful to kiteboard than near our Rivera Maya home. The crystal clear blue water of the Mexican Caribbean Sea is absolutely stunning, and the entire region could not be more perfect for kiteboarding and a variety of other water sports. While our guests were here, we also visited Playa del Carmen property to enjoy a few gourmet dinners. I highly recommend John Gray’s, Fusion and Piola, but don’t be afraid to try new dining spots in Playa, as there are literally hundreds of fabulous restaurants that will appeal to any palate. Finally, we ended up at my in-law’s favorite place in the entire Riviera Maya, which is Tulum property. Of course, they actually have several ‘favorite’ spots here, which they visit several times each year, but I digress. After spending a relaxing day on the beach, we went to Charlie’s, which is a staple in Tulum that specializes in traditional Mexican cuisine. Tulum real estate not only has the most beautiful beaches in the world, but it is also home to a growing number of exceptional restaurants and a thriving nightlife that promises to rival that of Playa del Carmen in the not too distant future. Now, although our guests have gone back home, my wife and I know all too well that it is just a matter of time before new visitors come to enjoy our Riviera Maya home and escape the winter doldrums that will soon invade the entire United States. In fact, most of our guests come back time and time again, choosing to return sooner rather than later. But I’m definitely not complaining! We are always glad to share our Riviera Maya property with visitors, as it gives us a reason to explore the many beautiful attractions throughout the region.
