The 7 Most Effective Techniques To Get Rid Of Back Of Head Headaches

Advice,Health,Fitness
Headaches in back of head are some of the most painful and most common types of chronic pain. Based on how long you've suffered from persistent headaches, you are most likely quite fed up with trying to find an effectual treatment that will quickly eliminate symptoms whenever you have a headache, and forestall future attacks. Drugs could alleviate symptoms, but do nothing to treat the causes of headaches, which can be debilitating and even disheartening. However, you need not lose hope. This article offers seven natural solutions for reducing and possibly preventing your chronic headache symptoms.

1. Try Natural Headache Remedies - An increasingly popular treatment method for treating problems such as headaches is natural treatments. Many people are beginning to realize that natural treatment methods are the best way to get rid of headaches in back of head without the need to use any chemical drugs. When we are talking about natural treatment options, you have a whole lot of natural herbal cures and homeopathic remedies which can be tried as they are safe and risk free. Many local and online health food retailers carry informative books and magazines about herbal remedies that could teach you which natural cures can eliminate your headache problem.

2. Take a Hot Shower - Many times a persistent headache problem is the result of anxiety and muscle tension brought on by stress. Sometimes, the best treatment for stress is to wash it all away. Take a hot shower that allow the water to pulsate against your neck and cascade down your back, effectively loosening all those knotted muscles on the way. This is also an effective means of improving blood circulation, which supplies oxygen and removes the toxin accumulation from the areas where you have the pain

3. Just Take a Nap - Sometimes a headache might be an indication from your body system to warn you that you are exhausting yourself. In today's fast paced chaotic lifestyle, it's easy to get burned out or overloaded by problems at the office, school or home. If in case you suspect a headache creeping in, find a dark, quiet place where you can sit quietly or lie down. Shut your eyes and rest. If you're at work, chances are you'll be too self-conscious to go to sleep completely, but having a short time-out could lessen the negative effects of the each day grind, and may be what you need to get rid of headaches in back of head.

4. Take Nutritional Supplements - Even with a well balanced nutritious diet, sometimes your body might not receive the required quantity essential vitamins and minerals. therefore you need to take a quality multivitamin/multi-mineral tablet. Many experts also suggest the intake of supplements of magnesium, calcium, chrondroitin and glucosamine; as these substances help to relax muscles and enhance blood flow for maximum headache relief.

5. Get in Shape - Getting in shape and staying that way is a good treatment plan for acute headaches on the back of head. If you are obese, make an effort to cut back on sugary, carbohydrate rich fatty foods. The only sure fire way to lose weight is to limit your calorie intake while trying to burn off more energy through physical exercises; and you will also need a maintenance program. Aerobic exercise burns calories and delivers more oxygen to the brain, to prevent headaches. Ideally, you need to workout for 30-45 minutes, at least three days a week.

6. See Your Doctor - At times, chronic headache pain is a sign that there's something else wrong with your body. So make and keep regular appointments with your primary care physician to diagnose or rule out any underlying medical problems. Make it a point to bring along the list of medications that you are already taking. This is especially important if you are under the care of more than one doctor, as there could be harmful negative effects and drug interactions between your medications, which may need to be modified to remove headaches in back of head.

7. Try Aromatherapy - Aromatherapy is widely used nowadays as an effective natural treatment for stress induced headaches. That's because it's easy to incorporate, inexpensive and pleasant for the senses. AND it works! Sandalwood, peppermint, eucalyptus, lavender, and wide variety of natural oils can be used to effectively remove headache pain. Try this massage oil concoction to help ease your headache symptoms. Take 10 ml of olive oil to which you need to add three drops of chamomile oil and 8 drops of lavender oil. Mix well. Store in tightly closed container, and whenever you feel the headache pain creeping in, massage few drops of this concoction over the forehead area and temples.
