ETA is a type of Australian Visa, which allows people to enter the Australian territory. ETA stands for Electronic Travel Authority that means confirmation of your visa is electronically stored in your passport and you don’t have to take a tangible proof of your visa to the airport as a proof. The system was introduced in the year 1996. Don’t confuse ETA with a visa, as it is not an actual visa for Australia, but is equivalent to it. Usually this is valid for the period of 12 months, from the date of issuance. During this time lap you can make multiple visits to Australia, but none of your visit should exceed the limit of three months. Types of ETA visas There are three type of Australian ETA Visa: ETA -Visitor (Subclass 976), Business Entrant - Short Validity (Subclass 977), and Business Entrant - Long Validity (Subclass 956). Each of the above described visas has different purpose and validity period. Before applying for any of these, make sure you have enough knowledge about it, so that you don’t end up applying for the wrong one. How to Apply? Applying online is the easiest way to get your ETA Visa. All you need to do is search for any unfeigned online visa provider firm, provide your prerequisite documents and details, fill an online application form, and wait till it gets approved. Many of these firms are open 24*7 for their clients and serve them with some add-on benefits; in return they charge you with some fees. Visa fee may vary from site to site and thus solely depends upon the company through which you are applying. More than 300, 000 travel agents from across the globe and more than 75 airlines access the Australian ETA visa system, everyday. As per the information updated on the Australian Government’s official web site, most of the visa applications that are filled everyday with the Australian Department of immigration and citizenship (DIAC) are approved or denied in 30 seconds, but there are chances that few applications might take longer than usual to get approved. Now a day’s more and more people prefer to apply for ETA’s because they can be easily applied which helps them to save their time of standing in the long lines at granting embassies.
