Get ready for Ultrabook overload as second-generation versions of Intel's new ultraportable category begin rolling out to storesnear you. Reiterating previous statements , Intel on Tuesday said more than 35 new Ultrabooks are availablenow or headed to store shelves in the next month. The company alsoexpects 110 new Ultrabook designs to roll out in the next 12 months, 30 of which will havetouchscreens. Intel made the announcements during Computex Taipei2012 where the company gave a glimpse into the future of Ultrabooks. Intel mostly rehashed Ultrabook news and features we've known forsome time. All of the new Ultrabooks Intel is expecting will bepowered by third-generation Ivy Bridge Core processors . They also feature fast resume times (about 7 seconds) from sleep.Features such as Intel Smart Connect lets your laptop automaticallyupdate e-mail and social networks in sleep mode. Later this year,Ultrabooks will come loaded with voice command software from Nuance Communications allowing you to use your voice tolaunch apps, play local media, start an online voice chat, andsearch the Web. Touch-based Ultrabooks will roll out later thisyear, Intel said, probably around the expected October launch of Windows 8. Some of the latest Ultrabooks to come out include Lenovo's sleek new IdeaPad models , the U310 and U410. Both devices are less than an inch thick andpriced below $800, meeting Intel's goal of offering sub-$1,000 Ultrabooks . Sony also recently launched a new Ultrabook, the Sony Vaio T13 , that is also less than an inch thick, features a 13.3-inchscreen, a 1.7 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, a 500GB hard drive, andan $800 price tag. PCWorld's review gave Sony's new Ultrabook 3.5out of 5 stars calling it a middle-of-the-road Ultrabook . But these models are just the beginning of a big Ivy Bridge-poweredUltrabook rollout.
