Banking provides career opportunities for unemployed persons who are searching for work of all education levels. The Occupational Outlook Handbook of 2010-2011 denotes that 64 percent of office and administrative positions are provided by this banking industry. The banking employees has number of financial work like assisting the customers in maintaining their accounts, cash withdrawals and deposit process, to make traveler’s checks and loan payments. Bank employees who are also called as the tellers are creditworthy in almost every functions of the banking or financial institutions. It is their duty to maintain a record about the money transactions, which takes place in the bank. It is not an easy task because every bank has dozens of money transactions each day. The customer care representatives and the account clerks will help the bank customers in opening a new account or closing their existing account and they will answer to all queries related to bank services. While the loan account clerks help in processing the paper works for the bank loans, the credit card clerks will examine whether the application for credit card is filled correctly. Though the bank employees have a clean and pleasant work atmosphere, there is a possibility of criminal activity like looting in the bank. Hence, the bank employees must be prepared to protect themselves and the customers. The role of a bank clerk who is also called as a teller has an entry-level position in this financial service profession. They record the entire transactions into the bank’s computer system, answer their customer’s queries and solve their problems regarding their accounts. The opportunities for this post will be in the newspaper advertisements and in online job search boards. Many banks recruit the bank clerks from community job fairs also. An electronic banking manager handles the electronic banking activities like automatic teller machine banking [ATM], telephone banking and online banking. The credit controller is responsible to speed up the payment of overdue bills. They should have a suitable standard education and experience in banking and accounting. - Describing the nature of work of the bank employees:
Bureau of Labor Statistics [BLS] and State University announces that the main duties of the bank tellers are to distribute and accept monies. In other words, the duties include cashing checks, processing deposits, completing withdrawal slip and taking loan payments. They also issue traveler’s checks and exchange currency. Most of the banks demand a high school diploma or GED for the bank employee position. - Way to get a job in banking industry:
Although seeking a job in any fields is a challenging one, it is not so in this banking profession. You must work hard and have right knowledge about the banking service to get a job in banks.
