It was a fine day, and my wife and I took a walk to the square, where we could see others flying kites leisurely. Suddenly, the kite of a couple of young students drew my attention. The boy seized the line tightly in his hand and ran forward together with the girl, so the butterfly kite flew to the sky slowly. When the kite was in the air, there small butterflies dropped off from the large butterfly, on which was written “I love you.” Upon seeing that, the girl’s running footsteps stopped and her eyes moistened. Maybe the boy had said these there words to her many times, but his delicate arrangement touched her deeply. Hence, the girl ran to the boy and hugged him tightly in spite of many people around them. Also I was moved, but I was afraid of being discovered by my wife, so I turned my head quickly. In the eyes of adults, maybe their behavior was superficial and naïve, for they were so young that didn’t know how hard the life was, however, their true love was worth remembering forever. Many years ago when I was a student, I also showed my love to my favorite girl frankly like that young boy. One time when she had a birthday party, I didn’t have money to buy exquisite gifts for her. After thinking hard for two hours, I bought a piece of blank paper and a bottle of ink and then spent 4 hours in drawing a beautiful picture carefully. When I gave this picture to her, she was deeply moved and couldn’t help crying. At that moment, I found I had a long time not to say “I love you.” to my wife. In the busy life, I was so busy everyday that I forgot to show my love to my wife, so I got used to buying different kinds of luxurious presents to express my love, however, she smiled plainly when receiving deluxe clothes, shoes, accessories, houses or cars. Then I questioned myself, “Is there no love between us? Aren’t we moved by each other?” Of course not, it was just a matter of our ignorance. Hence, I told myself that I wouldn’t be mean to show my love from then on, for it was more valuable than any gifts.
