Football (also known as soccer) is an important game to many people. Most men (and women) are ready to sacrifice their other needs just to make sure they get a ticket for tomorrow's big match. They enjoy the skills displayed by their favorites who train with some football practice drills before any competition. The drills are helpful in many ways; for instance, they help improve the player's performance. These trainings come in different types. For example, there is tactical soccer drill, functional training drill, and soccer fitness drill, passing-the-ball drill, defending drill, controlling-the-ball drill, and crossing-the-ball drill and defending drill. These tests could be general or generated by the coach who has seen a strength or weakness in his team or player. Tactical drill is taken to build the team's formation and method of play. Tactics may change with time, but this depends on the next team to play with. Tactical drill has to be done ahead of the next match to enable the players adapt to the new pattern that is necessary for winning the next match. Before a new tactic can work, the coach and players have to know the opposition's strengths and weaknesses. The functional training drill is done for a particular position on the field. This means that players on the midfield will have a different functional training drill from the ones on the defense. This training can be made more specific to an individual especially when the player is the only one to take care of that position. For instance, in a 4-5-1 formation, where there is a single forward, the coach will have to do more work in making sure that his single forward will perform well. Football practice drills for fitness are divided into aerobic and anaerobic trainings. Fitness is an important part of the game because the players are often exposed to continuous movements and strenuous activities. An example of a good aerobic drill is jogging.
