Receiving IT Certifications For people who are already familiar with computers or received a four-year degree many years ago, one of the best ways to receive additional IT training is to attend certification courses. Certification courses allow people to learn and improve their skills in very specific arenas, such as network troubleshooting or working with particular software suites. These certification classes teach people how to not only pass a test but how to apply their skills in a real world setting as well. Further, certifications are an excellent way to demonstrate to prospective employers an aptitude in a particular field without a degree. Many companies no longer require applicants to have Bachelor's degrees to be considered for a position, so certifications are an excellent way to secure a job without spending several years in school.
