We all know that live web seminars, or as they are so adorably called by well paid marketing experts - "Webinars" - are a fantastic way to sell products and services. Sale conversion rates on live web seminars are much higher than conventional email and text marketing campaigns. Based upon my detailed research, I can safely say that the only sales techniques that sell better than live webinars occur in New Jersey when Tony, Vito and their mob friends ask neighborhood businesses to purchase their monthly protection services. That conversion rate is always near 100%, but please do not attempt the same tactics to sell your weight loss plan or e-book. Tony and Vito do not like people moving in on their territory. You are warned. Even though most webinars convert sales very well, not all products or services should be marketed using live web seminars. Here for your reading pleasure are a couple of examples. Hog Butchering Equipment With American farmers facing the double treat of smaller profits and higher costs, Kansas farmer, Wade Elwart, decided to become an entrepreneur. Wisely deciding to develop a product to provide a service that he knew how to perform from personal experience, Elwart invented a cadre of specialty knifes and cleavers for hog butchering that he cleverly named The GinSueySueySuey Knives Set. Elwart rented a television studio near his farm and began to advertise his marketing webinar, "Butchering Hogs for Fun and Profit". The webinar set consisted of a few bales of hay, a large tub to catch blood and a nice display of The GinSueySueySuey Knives Set on a rack. As the webinar began, Elwart very professionally greeted his audience, explained the advantages of his custom made knives, and then proceeded to reek bloody havoc on a live feed to thousands in his webinar audience. The webinar could have easily been called "Freddie Krueger Visits Green Acres". Needless to say, his seminar audience was outraged, but all of them calmed down immediately when Elwart agreed to include a free pound of bacon with every order of The GinSueySueySuey Knive Set. The television station refused to let Ewart broadcast future web seminars, citing F.C.C rules that prohibit the distribution of bacon on live web telecasts. Colon Cleansing Enema Solutions Let's face it. Most of our colons are a mess. Years of eating pizza, beef jerky and Twinkies have clogged most of us up badly. A good colon cleansing can remove all kinds of unmentionable toxic materials and make valuable room in our intestines to allow us to continue on for years with our disgusting eating habits. FecesAid, not to be confused with GatorAid, was designed to help lucky purchasers clean out their colon in a convenient and entertaining way -though an enema. The live webinar to promote this product was hosted by the European inventor of FecesAid who touted its special ingredients of morning dew off of flowers from Tahiti and LiquidPlumber. Instead of using a life-like mannequin to demonstrate proper use of the product, the FecesAid marketing team decided to use the inventors 75 year old father (who needed a few bucks to supplement his dock workers pension fund). The old man came on camera, dropped trousers, and the rest is webinar history. Web seminar viewers who tuned in late thought they had mistakenly tuned into a documentary on the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. It was not a pretty sight, although the webinar did get good reviews from a followup focus group that liked its catchy musical score. ************************** There you have the scoop fellow webinar lovers.
