We maybe Sheep, but we have a lion within us. What brings out this lion? It resides in our faith. I want us to react out of hope and not fear: “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption” (Romans 8:15). We are gods, and not animals bound by a fight or flight gene. At some point in our ancestors’ past, this was a vital instinct residing in our Physical Bodies: “It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body” (1 Corinthians 15:44), and it can be useful for certain situations in today’s world as well (Locke, 280). But it is not the kind of response we should be applying to our daily lives. We should not rely on these responses for things as mundane as commuter traffic. We are gods – the only thing we were missing was immortality. Mother Eve did not make it to the Second Tree, and so we were only half-gods. However, The Christ has resolved that through His sacrifice (Romans 5:12-13), and so He has completed what the First Adam failed to do: “It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual” (Genesis 3:21-24; 1 Corinthians 15:44-46; Zohar, xxvi). So now, we not only have Awareness – A Tree of Knowledge (Proverbs 3:13-18)- a Psyche (aka: Soul [From the Beginning…,447]), but now we have immortality thus completing the cycle (2 Corinthians 4: 13-15). And now we humble and believing Sheep are aware of the Truth (Colossians 1:4-6) which is, we now possess all the ingredients necessary of being truly gods (Psalm 82:6+7) made only a little lower than the angels (Hebrews 2:6-8), with the Tree of Life growing within us (Matthew 13:31+32; Luke 17:21). Through the Spirit of the Christ which resides within us (Romans 8:9-16), we are now truly like “Them” (Genesis 3:22-24). Waking up each morning aware of this simple truth, let us stop living like caged animals trapped in our Natural Body (2 Corinthians 5: 1-10), responding with archaic and animalistic instincts which threaten our physical and spiritual well-being. Instead let us begin living with the mastery of our Spiritual Bodies – and respond to the World’s trials and tribulations as true Images of God reflecting the reality as above as below (Genesis 1:27; Matthew 6:9+10).
