My husband and I met in college. We were fortunate enough to have one course together. While my area of studies was within the liberal arts department, my husband was a computer studies major. We met simply out of an act of fate. During my senior year, I had to take a course within my husband's department. I had never taken a computer course, but was forced to due to my lack of electives. While I was not looking forward to this course, I was able to meet the man of my dreams. After realizing that I would not be able to do well in that course alone, I realized that there was a certain individual in the class that knew a great deal on the topic. Lucky for me, my future husband and I were paired up for a group project, and I was able to create software with him that allowed us to both do well in the course. While I did not share his interest on the topic, I was thankful for his enthusiasm, and passed the last course of my senior year. Years later, after getting married, my husband landed a deal working for an online marketing company. While I was pursuing a career in real estate, my husband would constantly come home and tell me about a new online project he was working on, or a new form of software he was testing out. I barely understood a lot of what he would tell me, however, I did become increasingly interested in the topic of an XML sitemap generator. I had no idea what an XML sitemap generator was, but my husband knew vast amounts of information on the topic, and I quickly realized that an XML sitemap generator may even be something of importance to my career as a real estate agent. After days of hearing my husband talk to colleagues on the phone about an XML sitemap generator, I decided to ask him what it was all about. My husband doubted my interest at first, but after moments of prying, I was able to find a great deal of information. My husband told me that an XML sitemap generator could be a plug-in that one could simply download from the internet. This plug-in could generate an XML sitemap that would help different search engines index an individual or company's blog or website. My husband then went on to tell me that this type of sitemap provided ease to the crawlers in order to see the entire structure of one's website, which would allow it to be found much more easily. This type of XML sitemap would support all types of URLs and would notify all search engines each time a new entry is made. After my husband realized that this was something I was extremely interested in for my personal website, he showed me how I could install the plug-in, and I was excited to get much more traffic on my site. While I do not share my husband's interest of all things software and computer related, I am thankful that he has a huge amount of information on such topics. Without his knowledge, I would certainly not know how to get individuals to visit my website or blog, and I would not be able to do specific outreach as easily. Even though we have always differed in our interests, I am thankful my husband and I met in a computer software course, as this shared interest has certainly taken us a great distance. He has provided great benefits to our marriage with his knowledge on XML sitemap generators, and I have found us our dream home with my knowledge on real estate!
