It Wasn't God's Voice I Heard - It Was Yours

Christianity,Advice,Current Affairs
With Muslim leaders and the UN actually considering limiting speech that would, in turn, limit any criticism of the so called prophet of Islam, we are forced to consider what sort of speech will be disallowed next. Will we be scooped up and incarcerated for saying the President is doing a bad job? (Lot of arrests to be made on this point) Will conservative voices across the media be silenced for crossing well over the acceptable limits of politically correct speech?

On October 7, 2012 churches across the land will participate in what is known as “Pulpit Freedom Sunday.” It is a day of preaching and teaching about life and family issues as taught in scriptures and how each candidate in the upcoming 2012 elections views and practices these biblical tenets. In keeping with this effort I not only salute the brave pastors who are participating, but I have chosen to offer, yet once again, what I know to be the two most important messages ever granted to me in a lifetime.

As children we may remember when the aphorism, “children should be seen and not heard” was engaged to put us to silence. But time would not hold the maxim up forever; because the same children may many years later be called upon to speak in matters that would decide the fate of the adults that once silenced them. Be it medical care or admittance into a nursing facility, the formerly silenced voice may now be heard to give the final disposition of the parent.

In the Christian ministries much time is spent advocating for or against what we consider to be authoritative voices and those of the fake, the charlatan and the false prophet. Not nearly as much time is given to heeding the voices of those considered authoritative.

The church has been driven by err, fear and complacency to dismiss any voice that seems too authoritative. We hide behind the theology that proclaims “But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.” (1Co 13: 10) must be speaking of the Bible as that which is “perfect” and prophecy that which passes away. Although the verse and its accompanying passage, does not say that, we march away, confidently, with this idea anyway. It is a thinly veiled extrapolation passing itself off as a legitimate theological interpretation. It is, an addition to scripture that some will have to answer for at some time in the future. (Rev 22:18)

We will not allow the sovereignty of God to come against our predisposition and certainly we will not allow the clarity of the Prophet Joel’s words on last days renewal (Joel 2: 28f) to be attached or assigned to actual last days events. While we are busily painting God into a corner, we fail to notice that just behind us world events are rising like a tsunami and are threatening our world with near extinction. We quote the prophets of old with boldness and we don’t mind using their authority to bolster our point, but God forbid that we dare to speak with the same authority.

We are aided by Hollywood which has painted a picture for us of quacks and charlatans who use the scriptures as a means to extort something from others. They depict those who have the voice of God in their heads as people who ultimately are bound to hurt others or commit some unspeakable crime against humanity. Hollywood and the dull of hearing combine to produce a picture of the fox; that may soon come to attack the henhouse, even while they themselves are eating the chickens.

But what should we do if a prophet comes along and says “it is not God’s voice I’ve heard, but yours?

I have to chuckle when I hear people debate whether anyone can really know or see the future, because I have seen it so many times that at one point it made me quite uneasy, perhaps even fearful. I prayed over it and that’s when God very carefully led me to the following verse and by means of that other inscrutable and difficult to explain phenomena known as the confirmation of the Holy Spirit who indicated that this was the reason for it all. To wit:

“And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.” (Nu 12: 6)

I was new in the faith and had not yet heard of the “when that which is perfect” interpretation. To this day I am glad that God’s activity came long before man’s interpretations. Since thousands of revelations, (many mundane, some very serious) have come and gone with a 100 percent record of accuracy, it is not likely that I will begin backtracking into the most common error of telling God what he can and cannot do.

There is not space here to tell of all the times and ways I have seen the future, but two revelations must always be told because they are the very purpose of my life; they are in fact, the reason I was born.

The first I have reiterated often and the essentials of that message are conveyed in an article published in July of 2008 and found across the internet entitled “Prophecy and the American Economy.” That message is simple, but dire, because it flies in the face of every promise of both Barack Obama and contender Mitt Romney on the recovery of our economy. America is headed for times of extreme poverty and scarcity. Don’t worry, poverty is not doom and scarcity can be endured.

What America and indeed the entire world cannot endure is the result of its race toward everything prurient and grossly immoral. Abortion, the gay agenda and everything sleazy will have its answer in due season. These results are far beyond budding, but are in the full leaf and branch stage as it pertains to prophecy.

In the vision and picture of the return of Christ I was given over forty years ago it was not the voice of God that un-nerved me, in fact God did not speak at all in the vision. But it was the voices of the people all over the world speaking and mourning in unison that I can never forget. Let me tell it once again for those who may not have heard it before.

The imbroglio of where and when will be omitted for the sake of brevity. For the sake of clarity it suffices, to say, that as a young man (Formerly raised Catholic) I was totally unaware that there was to be a second coming of Christ. Even as a brand new believer I had read only a few passages from the scripture, mostly from the Sermon on the Mount and the general teachings of Christ.

One night before retiring I heard a fiery radio evangelist preaching on the second coming of Christ and the conditions that would prevail before Christ would return. It seemed that he was speaking of my generation, my time and yours. I prayed intensely before going to bed - “Is this our generation Lord?” The answer I got that night shook my life, started me off into a lifetime of study, and has at this juncture influenced the lives of thousands of people who have heard me tell of the resulting vision.

An un-named angel of the Lord came and carried me away to a high place overlooking the earth, the sun and the moon. He told me without words, but by some kind of empathic command, to look where he pointed. He first pointed to earth that for all intents and purposes looked quite normal. Then he pointed to the sun. It was covered with something akin to a very tightly knitted cloth that didn’t completely block it out, but let almost no light through to the earth.

Next the angelic messenger pointed to the moon and I could see it clearly but it was the color of blood. It was a deep red which made it look eerie; I was puzzled but not frightened. I had not yet read any of the many references in the Bible about how the sun would be darkened and the moon would be the color of blood at the second coming of Christ.

Next, he told me to look outward beyond the earth. At first there was nothing to see, but darkness - until a distant light appeared and began its descent to the earth and landed in a very specific place – Jerusalem. The light pulsated as if it were alive; it was alive, it was the Lord Jesus Christ.

The final command the angel gave was not about looking at something, but he told me to turn my ear toward the earth and listen. If you are the kind of person that doubts that God still speaks to people today consider that the voice, or in this case, the voices God allowed me to hear, was not his, or an angel’s voice, – it was yours. It was America, Europe, Africa, Asia, it was global.

The mournful collective cry I heard coming from all over the globe was in two parts. First I heard, “Oh no, he has returned and we did not believe.” The second round of voices said, “Oh no, he has returned and we were not ready.”

The angel returned me to my bed (if I ever left) and I awoke. I knew God had spoken because by this time I had already seen dozens of prophetic pictures of the future, most which had already gone into the past and were part of history. Doubting would be dumb and dithering would be deadly for those who needed to hear this message which I have broadcast now for these past forty years.

It was perhaps a year or so before I actually read anything in the Bible that would draw together the warnings of the Prophet Joel, my own vision and the picture of how things would transpire according to the prophets, all lumped together in one short but powerful passage. To wit:

“But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Acts 2: 16 -21)

Accompanying my vision was the very distinct sense that all this was to take place during my lifetime or very shortly thereafter. Since I am approaching the limitations of my life what should this mean to you? Only you can answer this, but it is my hope that your voice is not among those I heard who mournfully decried their own lack of preparation.
